Brought to you by the scumbags doing everything in their power to make sure our tech future is a dystopia where literally every action we take has a cost and they get to collect part of that cost simply for existing. The scumbags that spent the last few years making sure that billions of dollars in venture capitalist funding went into building crypto scams rather than anything useful.

Fuck Andreessen Horowitz. If we have a positive tech future it will be because we had the wisdom to burn their firm and every company like it to the ground and then bury the ashes.

At least they screamed the “WE’RE SO FUCKING EVIL” part out loud:

    The Enemy

Our present society has been subjected to a mass demoralization campaign for six decades – against technology and against life – under varying names like “existential risk”, “sustainability”, “ESG”, “Sustainable Development Goals”, “social responsibility”, “stakeholder capitalism”, “Precautionary Principle”, “trust and safety”, “tech ethics”, “risk management”, “de-growth”, “the limits of growth”.

Sustainability is the enemy. Social responsibility is the enemy. Trust and safety are the enemy. Ethics are the enemy.

I’ve rarely seen anyone who needs to shut up and smoke a joint as much as Marc Andreessen. His boyish enthusiasm is only rivaled by his privilege blindness. He means well.

He’s so close to getting it and yet not quite there. People rail about technology because it brings change and PEOPLE HATE CHANGE. Yes technology is the foundation of our society blah blah but it is also bringing an ever accelerating rate of change which constantly disrupts lives and makes it nearly impossible to just live and know what to expect tomorrow.

Marc trumpets to the sky that our society was built on technology! Yeah, at the cost of irreversible damage to the environment that has already brought on the anthropocene mass extinction, which may very well get us, too.

We have clean energy technology? Great! Now come up with a technological solution that will get it fully adopted. 200 years ago. Developed economies have brought us to the brink. And developing economies still built on coal are inevitably going to push us over the edge.

Come up with technological solutions to that, you tumescent manchild.
