I’ve been looking at ‘Bridge Phones’ which would let me ditch my (rather large) Android device for something much smaller that won’t significantly reduce my ability to use some key apps (Signal, Spotify, OSMAnd+, and some activity tracking apps).
Does anyone have any thoughts on this device?
I’m not bothered by not having cameras, and it looks like this fits the bill, being a smaller version of the F22 Pro as far as I can tell.
For what it’s worth, I’m going to get one on order - it’s a small enough expenditure that I don’t think it’ll matter terribly if I hate it!
I’ll update this post with my experiences when I’ve had it and had a chance to test it out, if there’s interest?
Please do! It would be nice to have a bit more activity on this community.
I’ve been thinking about buying that kind of phone, but I’m still a bit unsure about typing with that keyboard…
It’s ordered! Not sure exactly on their lead times, but when it arrives I’ll get some thoughts together and see how it all plays out!
How has it been going so far?
A few teething problems - my goal is to set it up as hassle-free as possible and there are a few things I’d say before jumping into this particular device.
I know a lot of the F22 Pro versions come with gapps, this doesn’t. I spoke with the guys at Qinphone and there is a version for westerners in the works but out of the box this thing is very obviously for the Chinese market - I’m going to try to do a full write up when I’ve streamlined things a little bit and been able to use it in my day-to-day a little more. It’s completely stock but I’ve had to sideload a few apps to get what I consider full functionality for myself (messaging and music apps).
Obviously in the meantime I’m happy to answer questions!
