    Lawns are a hell we inflicted upon ourselves. We put ourselves in charge of the dirt. We planted the grass in it. We wrote the rules which said that we’re not allowed to let it grow to incorrect heights. We even invented the idea that grass can be an incorrect height!

    If that’s not the folly of humankind distilled into the purest possible dose, then I don’t know what is

      Mine is more like, ope, it’s looking a bit cloudy outside. I guess I can’t mow today in case I get rained on and electrocuted by my electric mower!

      Feels great in the moment and awful later when I have a jungle to deal with.

        I’m the same way! Except I use a gas mower and I don’t mow if it rains because it clogs like crazy if the grass is wet.
