    I was smart enough pretty early on to have 2 main email accounts - one “serious” one for job applications and more private accounts like online banking, and a spam account with as little of my personal info linked to it as possible.

      I made a gmail account back when you needed an invite and got my real name and have spent the last 20 years being very selective about where I type it, unsubscribing from crap I don’t want, and reporting spam, and it’s still pretty clean. I get maybe 10-15 emails a day, and mostly ones I’m at least occasionally interested in!

      I mean, just because op make the original meme doesn’t mean they don’t have a 20 year old email full of spam (I also have one)
