Apple has said it “strongly disputes” the minerals claims and that it is “deeply committed to armed conflict responsible sourcing” of minerals.

I mean, “apple is accused of” isn’t much of a story. Anyone can be accused of anything.

The authorities in France and Belgium will now look at whether there is enough evidence to take the legal action further.

If it turns out there’s evidence then it might be more convincing. But this is literally just at the finger-pointing stage.

Big tech bad, yes, agree, but let’s not jump the gun.

Surprisingly, I’m not shocked at all. Heck, I’m not even surprised I’m not shocked.

What an incredibly PC word for BLOOD DIAMONDS! I’m sure the world will be a much safer place downplaying that or if you prefer BLOOD MINERALS. But conflict minerals doesn’t exactly sound as hostile as it should.

Well, they’re talking about “tin, tantalum and tungsten”, not diamonds, so that part makes sense. They did water down the title compared to the article where they describe them as “blood minerals” though, you’re right about that.
