Hi everyone! This is a bit long, but I’ve been keeping this close for a while and feel it’s time to share. I’ve always been passionate about tech and gadgets, and Home Assistant has become a big part of my life over the past few years. As a former electrician and now an electrical engineer, I see Home Assistant as the answer to a lot of the problems in the smart home industry and our growing energy challenges if done correctly.
I’ve been working on something I call SMARTi, a pre-configured Home Assistant hub I’ve spent the last three years developing. It supports Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Matter (and hopefully Thread somewhere down the line). It also has a built-in battery (5000mAh), LTE for areas with limited internet, SD card support, and USB for peripherals. Software-wise, it comes with Home Assistant Supervised on Debian 12, along with Zigbee2MQTT, Z-Wave JS, Node-RED, and more.
The heart of SMARTi is the automated dashboard I’ve designed and buildt. It auto-populates with devices and sorts them by area, giving you easy control over your smart home without any manual configuration. You also get energy monitoring for your Nord Pool area, security alerts, and automation like backup routines and auto-updates. Have a look at the screenshots I’ve attatched.
Earlier this year, I tested it with a small group in Norway and got great feedback. Now, I’m offering 100-200 units at 229 EUR + shipping for a larger test group. If I don’t reach the goal, I’ll refund the purchases, but I’m hopeful. Shipping starts in February 2025.

The solution is totally open like any other Home Assistant installation (this includes the underlying OS - Debian 12).
