Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed a “huge number” of his fighters had been killed in the strike.
Gotta love it when your enemies turn on each other.
Russian military has been shambolic to say the least. Honestly think it’ll be a case study for other countries in the future on poor leadership in a 21st century conflict.
Only if they kill each other. Prigozhin is every bit the monster that Putin is and then some, and worse yet he’s got no pretense of being anything otherwise. You see Russians flip to support him and it’ll get a lot worse for the world before it gets better. There’s not many people more ardently Nazi in their views than Prigozhin. The guy is a brutal fascist warlord.
Didn’t say i liked him, he’s definitely a hobgoblin and a villain, just like Putler. If they war against each other, that helps Ukraine oust these barbaric orcish scumbag invaders.
Just remember, at the end of the day, it’s people who are going to suffer on all sides. Take a moment to feel bad for Russian citizens who condemn the invasion of Ukraine just as much as we do and who don’t deserve to live in a state undergoing a military coup.
(and this comment is really directed to everyone, it’s important to remember not to hate an entire people when their leadership is doing something terrible)
I mean, you are correct. But I don’t see much hatred directed at the Russian people in general. Some occasional frustration that they can’t do more to depose him, but I don’t know how brave I’d be, Faced with the FSB
It’s true, but I also think it’s very easy to forget to separate the two (leadership & people) when you are considering events, and that’s how long-term stereotypes form. So, I think it’s a good idea to actively keep it in mind at times like this :)
The small portion of russian society that opposed the war and tried to protest have my sympathy. Let’s be real though, the vast majority of russian people, like Germany of the Nazi era, were all for the war.
Let’s also look what is behind this revolution, was it the outrage of annihilation being wrought against the Ukrainian people? Nope, it was because the russian troops weren’t getting the support they needed in their savage and barbaric war of annihilation against the Ukrainian people.
So let me play this tiny violin for the suffering of the people of russia.
Exactly we have seen the Russian governments stance become more hardline/hawkish as the conflict has progressed and many Russian military failures. If Wagner group and Putin turn on each other, it’ll be the best for the world.
