The company’s same-store sales fell 3% in the quarter, fueled by a 5% decline in transactions.

The only way to increase profits is to cut 10,000 jobs, increase prices by 25% and further reduce quality of the ingredients, right? Right?

Starbucks used to taste good. Then I read about all the anti-union BS going on, and that put a sour taste in my mouth. I hope they fail, but better yet, in a dream world, they’d end up employee owned.

If a fcking coffee on starfcks costs 12€ and the coffee shop literally next door which has 50x better coffee offers the same or very similar coffee for 2€ and probably even has friendlier staff, the choice is simple. Starbucks is killing themselves. Pikachu shocked face.

I wish something like that existed here. I mean a place where you can walk in and out with a “good” coffee in 5 min. There are other coffee shops and their coffee is probably better, but they are all sit in, bot even much cheaper and it seems weird to just drink coffee. I just want my oatmilk latte, not a espresso that fries my neurons

I think there’s a large untapped niche for places that make no pretense at being fancy. Be upfront about buying everything from the grocery store, the value you’re bringing to the table isn’t the products, it’s the convenience.

I don’t give a rat’s ass if the food i eat at a restaurant is made from the same frozen premade stuff i buy at the grocery store, just don’t pretend like it’s got 3 michelin stars and only charge a price that covers cost of operations (including salaries and such)!

I and a lot of people simply do not have the luxury of eating at most restaurants, so when i go out i’m not looking for the best meals ever, i’m looking for decent food that i can enjoy while spending time away from home. I will frankly take premade grocery store frozen meals heated in a microwave oven if that comes with a nice view and a cost i can trivially afford.

I’ve been to a Starbucks exactly once. One cup of liquid cost me as much as my lunch, it was a thin, vaguely coffee-smelling brown mass that tried really hard to mask the overextracted flavor with sugar, but all it could do was convince me to never set foot in that monument to capitalism.

Exactly my experience. The coffee shop literally next door has 500x better taste and quality for 1/8 of the price. Choice is simple.

As a coffee lover, I absolutely despise anything that has that logo on it. Everything they sell is just mediocre and overpriced. They sell coffee pods and other coffee related products to use on nespresso machines and etc, and everything is just mediocre at best. There is not a single product from this brand that makes me prefer it over literally any other brand. It tasted the same as the extremely cheap white label coffee pods, but more expensive than the premium actually good options. It’s a hard pass for me. I, like many others, avoid that logo like a plague. If starbucks disappeared tomorrow, the whole world would just be “oh no, anyway” and make zero difference. Most people will even reach the end of the month with more money in the pocket and zero quality of life decreases.

Not to mention that this is like a fast food for coffee. They overload sugars on every drink even if you ask it with low sugar. Their syrups are extremely sweet already. Everything tastes so plasticky and fake. Fck them.

The Starbucks Nespresso pods are more expensive and taste worse than just about any other options, even the fancy ones from Nespresso are usually cheaper.
