    Couldn’t they just make it easier to become a documented immigrant instead of debating whether they should get driver licenses? I mean it’s probably a little bit harder to do but come on

      Letting illegal immigrants become legal immigrants would force companies to pay them more and respect their rights slightly so capitalists won’t allow it

      That’s the uncomfortable elephant in the room.

      They’re benefiting from exploiting cheap labor from undocumented immigrants, and don’t want to stop doing so.

      No they can’t. They are state and local officials and, despite what some governments in red states are saying, foreign relations and immigration are domains exclusive to the federal government.
