Sorry for the late reply, I’m not on here everyday.

I’ve not played the tabletop version in a very long time but know that if you’re into the necrons and love chaos, before you spend like $170 on the game that it might give you an “ick” playing as an ultramarine. I was only able to play it twice despite it being decent and set in a universe I adore because, something just felt wrong and I figured out why…

I could’ve maybe dealt with playing as a Fallen Angel :(

Hahah dw I know quite a lot about the tabletop, and have a small set of necrons, my partner has space Marines; we got them in the Indomitus pack a few years ago.

I mean, the Imperium is a great comment on the nature of facism. Of course it attracts certain types of neckbeards, but being a leftie myself, I find it fascinating that those people take it as inspiration rather than criticism of today’s society.

I would love to have a Slaneeshi army however, I love that Chaos God/ess so damn much, and their demons are phenomenal!

I wouldn’t mind at all doing the Zero Latency 40k game, even playing as a SM. I just love delving into the world of 40k and how all the factions interact with each other. Plus, fighting Tyranids would be sick AF!

Im all about the Horus Heresy. You can imagine my second edition army that lives in the UK, cocktail sticks make for great spikes. Showing my age there.

It was fun putting down *Kharn at times and summoning demons, but Abaddon and 4 terminators was my go to. One with an ancient reaper weapon.

Also the film Event Horizon is 100% Warhammer 40k canon in my opinion.

The commentary of the board game is great and I’m with you.

It’s cool that you and your partner are playing, I can’t get my partner interested and I have been keen to rebuild my army and play again.

On the computer game: it’s hack and slash and is very fun. It’s well rated by others too and yeah smashing Tyranids is awesome. I do wish it had an RPG element though as I wanna go through the rift.

Enjoy your tabletop fun too though!

See I’d love to get the books to read, I know there are so damn many but the lore building is great!

Agreed 💯 on event horizon being a 40k movie. I mean, it’s humans first time going into the warp without a Gellar Field, no doubt in my mind at all!!

I’ve tried to play Dawn of War but good lord it has not aged well, I’d have to mod the fuck out of it to have it playable by today’s standards, but I do want to play Rogue Trader. I’ve heard great great things about RT and my partner hypes it up everytime we talk about 40k haha.

Tabletop is certainly a different beast to the lore building of the books, and the video games. I mean, unless one is hardcore, one has to bring the bloody manual 😂 the YT channel PlayOn Tabletop is a great way to see how tabletop plays and the people who run it are so wonderful and inclusive!
