The male zucchini flowers are wilting and dying already… despite the fact that some female flowers are budding and will soon open. I’m just hoping that I get a mix at the same time because the longevity on them isn’t looking good.

    spoiler

The plants also seem a bit young/small to be flowering and fruiting yet. I saw a neighbour’s plants and who knows they could be full sized pumpkin plants, but the plants and blooms looked bigger. I wonder if I’m planting all my ish too late. It’s not like I have full control over that though.

The dishes got soaked in dish soap, bicarb and a kettle of boiling water. Quick scrub then soaked again overnight in dish soap, vinegar and boiling water. I put bicarb down the drains too. Maybe they’re ready for a hot soapy normal wash and air dry.

I tried to strip the bed but furbaby jumped onto it to save the shared scents… she then went to eat so the second attempt was successful.

    spoiler

When it’s time I keep a clean fitted sheet ready at the end of the bed. When she moves off I unhook the bottom corners, hook the clean ones corners then pull the fresh one up/onto the mattress while rolling the old one up/off in one movement. It’s fast enough that if I wait til she’s distracted I have most of it on before she jumps onto the middle and I can just secure the last two corners.

I really need to vacuum sweep and mop but am really low on energy right now. I’m mainly focusing on laundry

I think you’re doing great!! You don’t have to do ALL the chores in one day, and soaking the dishes is such a great idea (I might steal that when the executive dysfunction plays up again)!

Vacc and sweep can wait till your spoons have replenished! Such a great job! Seriously! 💜💜💜

Chores are all just so backed up because I’ve been really depressed/struggling physically and haven’t had help for a few weeks.

Soaking is great but beware. If you don’t do it in a timely manner the problem becomes exponentially worse by having added the water. This is what happened here.

Ideally you fill the sink with dishes and soapy water as hot as you can get it from the tap, even adding a kettleful of boiling water if you like (careful of glass), and then go do something else or rest a little while until it cools to a normal level of hot. About the temp you can wash it with rubber gloves. This will loosen everything up and kill a lot of germs, makes it much easier to scrub clean. (Of course I rinse too. Usually a quick swish under the running tap then set at an angle in the rack to let all the water drip off and air dry.)

But if you don’t… prepare for a feculent mouldering swamp, much remediation and even discarded items
